Some Aspects of the Renewal of the Church and its Liturgy
His Excellency Auxiliary Bishop Athanasius Schneider, O.R.C. (Archdiocese of Mary Most Holy in Astana, Kazakhstan), graciously visited Washington, DC, February 13-16, 2015, at the invitation of The Paulus Institute.
He is a member of the Order of the Canons Regular of the Holy Cross, which strives to live consciously in the company of the Holy Angels, and is dedicated to the solemn celebration of the sacred liturgy.
His Excellency has spoken and written extensively on the Holy Eucharist, including his most impressive book Dominus Est, and a second book, Corpus Christi.
On Saturday Feb. 14, His Excellency lectured at the Church of the Annunciation parish hall before an overflow crowd of about 150 faithful on the subject of “Some Aspects of the Renewal of the Church and its Liturgy,” preceded by an interview with The Paulus Institute, and followed by refreshments generously provided by The American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP).
On Sunday Feb. 15, His Excellency celebrated a Missa Cantata at St. Mary Mother of God Church. He also joined in choro at Sunday Vespers at St. Thomas Apostle Church.
