Gen. Altenburg is an attorney and a member of the international law firm of Greenberg Traurig in the Washington D.C. office. He served as the Deputy Judge Advocate General for the Department of the Army from 1997 to 2001. General Altenburg served 28 years as a lawyer in the Army, where he represented the Army before Congress, numerous state and local governments, and in the courts in the United States and Germany. Gen. Altenburg is a member of St. Raymond’s parish and attends Mass at Fort Belvoir Catholic Parish (VA).
